The dollar in Belarus has again updated the minimum.
As a result of trading on the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange (BCSE) on Friday, December 5, the dollar rate fell to the level, which was last seen two and a half years ago - actually to the values of mid-2023. The euro sagged similarly, approaching its lowest levels in almost seven months.
Currency rates at the end of trading:
1 dollar - 2.8767 rubles (-0.66%, -1.90 kopecks),
1 euro - 3.3575 rubles (-0.52%, -1.75 kopecks),
100 Russian rubles - 3.7845 rubles (+0.58%, +2.18 kopecks),
10 Chinese yuan - 4.0640 rubles (-0.71%, -2.90 kopecks).
It remains to be seen whether such a low dollar rate will provoke new queues at exchange offices. A year ago, it was the opposite: in December 2022, people were lining up in queues because of the sharp growth of the U.S. currency.
