The head of the German Foreign Ministry Johann Wadeful has promised to increase aid to Ukraine. This is stated in a press release of the ministry.

"Germany will allocate an additional 200 million dollars for armaments for Ukraine in two packages through the PURL mechanism," Johann Wadeful said. - We will also contribute an additional 25 million euros to the NATO Trust Fund for the Comprehensive Assistance Package, providing Ukrainian soldiers with the necessary winter equipment and proper medical care, especially now, during the ice and snow on the front lines."

The German Foreign Minister emphasized that Putin started the war against Ukraine and it is he who can end it at any moment.

"He has not yet shown any real willingness to negotiate. Therefore, we will keep the pressure on Russia and, as a NATO partner, we intend to strengthen it even further," the minister concluded.

The PURL program was introduced in July 2025 by US President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Its essence is that NATO members buy American weapons for Ukraine.
