Bloomberg: Poland Seeks Full Membership In G20

Belarus' neighbor has already received an invitation from the U.S. president to participate in the summit in 2026.

Poland seeks to become a permanent member of the G20 in order to represent the developing Eastern Europe. The Bloomberg writes about it, citing Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski.

"Poland's goal is to have a seat at the table as a full member of the G-20. We want to be the voice of our part of Europe," Domanski said.

He said Poland wants to represent a dynamic Eastern Europe in the G20, where "living standards are rising rapidly."

The publication notes that the country has already received an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to participate in the summit in 2026. It is still unclear what Poland's role will be at the summit, but Domanski believes the country "has a good chance" of becoming part of the G-20, as its economy is among the largest 20 economies in the world and its GDP per capita (adjusted for purchasing power differentials) is higher than Japan's.

Domanski says Poland can bring to the G-20 the experience of a country that has recently undergone a "tremendous transformation."
