Vladimir Putin is wearing thick-heeled shoes again, apparently to appear taller. Recent videos of the Russian president from the Hermitage Museum show that he chose special shoes for his meeting with CIS heads of state, writes The Telegraph.

The higher heels probably give him confidence next to the prime minister of Armenia, the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The special heels, which give the short Putin (estimated to be between 152 and 168 centimeters tall) up to 10 centimeters in height, feature a special curve in the sole. He wears them so often that these shoes have their own nickname, "pineapples."

But he doesn't always wear them. For example, at the direct line with the Russian president on December 19, Putin's walk to the table was shown for just a few seconds. However, you can see - the shoes are normal.
