Strikes on tankers will lead to the "winding down" of the shadow fleet of the Russian Federation.
Strikes on tankers of the "shadow fleet" of the Russian Federation will lead to the fact that no one will want to be recruited to the crews, and in the long term - to the winding down of this fleet. This was stated by Pavel Lakiychuk, head of security projects at the Strategy 21 Globalist Center Pavel Lakiychuk on the air of "Ukrainian Radio".
"When the Ukrainian Defense Forces and our special services apply kinetic sanctions, it has an impact. Before the strike on the tanker in the Mediterranean Sea, there were three strikes on tankers in the Black Sea confirmed by the Ukrainian Security Service, but there was another interesting case where everyone blames Ukrainian drones, but we did not take responsibility - it was one of the Turkish tankers off the coast of Senegal," the expert said.
According to him, the vessel was attacked at sea, and just a day later the shipowner company announced that it was terminating its partnership with all Russian counterparties, as the losses and risks associated with this business are not covered.
"This is exactly what the work on the shadow fleet is aimed at. First, we need to discourage those who want to enrich themselves illegally by cooperating with the bloody Russian regime to circumvent sanctions. Second, to reduce Russia's capabilities. Strikes on Russian tankers in the Black Sea will lead to an increase in insurance premiums, which is disadvantageous to shipowners. As a result, no one will want to join the crews, and then the winding down of this gray oil tanker fleet will begin. The prospect is pleasant, though not quick. But the process has already started," explained Mr. Lakiychuk.
