The Belarusians never saw the money.

Belarus failed to fulfill the plans to increase pensions - to bring them to 40% of the average salary. This is stated in the program of socio-economic development of Belarus for 2026-2030, writes "Zerkalo".

"The dynamics of pension payments remains stable. The ratio of the average retirement pension to the average wage in the economy fluctuates in the range of 36-37%, which is as close as possible to the world standard," the document says about what has been accomplished in the current five-year period and what has not.

Officials had plans for the current five-year period - in 2021-2025 - to bring the ratio of the average retirement pension to 40% of average earnings. The bottom line? The average retirement pension is 980.28 rubles, and the average October salary is 2758.6. So the former is only 35.5% of the latter.
