Vilnius has not yet attributed responsibility for the latest violations of its airspace by balloons to anyone in particular, "although Lithuanian officials have previously attributed similar incursions to Belarus," the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) pointed out.

Analysts recalled that the last time Lithuanian authorities were forced to suspend operations at Vilnius airport due to balloons flying in its direction was on the evening of June 30.
