The diplomatic service of the European Union summoned the Charge d'Affaires of Belarus in Brussels for official explanations. The reason was the hybrid actions, which are carried out from the territory of Belarus and pose a threat to the EU countries.

The summoning of the Belarusian diplomat was reported by a representative of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, reported the Polish edition Wirtualna Polska.

This came after Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda discussed with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Monday, December 1, the situation on the border with Belarus, including more frequent flights of smuggled balloons into Lithuanian airspace.

After the meeting, the European Commission chairwoman wrote in her social networks about the worsening situation on the border with Belarus, calling what is happening "a completely unacceptable hybrid attack." Von der Leyen also said that the European Commission was preparing further measures to strengthen sanctions pressure on Minsk.
