South African Radio Host Recruited Fighters For War Against Ukraine

South African radio host Nonkululeko Mantula has gone on trial on charges of recruiting four men to join Russia in its war against Ukraine.

South African police said the three men were detained while trying to board a flight to Russia via the United Arab Emirates. Police believe one man had already left for Russia after being recruited by Mantula.
The arrest of SAFM, a leading state radio station, came amid a separate police investigation into a case against the daughter of former South African president Jacob Zuma, who allegedly tricked 17 other men into fighting on Russia's side in Ukraine.
Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla has resigned from parliament and all public office. Her half-sister accused her of tricking men into traveling to Russia under the pretext of taking security training to help them get jobs.
