Platinum Prices Have Surpassed $2000 Per Ounce

For the first time in 17 years.

Platinum prices surpassed $2,000 per ounce for the first time in more than 17 years.

On Friday, December 19, January platinum futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) rose 2.38% to $2007.5 per ounce.

The last time platinum traded at these levels was July 15, 2008.
