They uncovered Russian recruitment schemes.
Two Colombian citizens have been captured by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Region.
That's reported by the 425 separate assault regiment "Skala". The captives claim they came to Russia to work, and were tricked into joining the war against Ukraine. They were promised to be paid 2,500 dollars a month, but they never saw the money.
"When the Colombians arrived in Ufa, their documents were taken away, they were handed automatic rifles and sent to storm Pokrovsk without food and water," the 425 SSR says.
The military also released a video of a conversation with the captured Colombians. One of them said he was promised a job as a welder in one of the units. Another learned from an acquaintance about a job in Russia, where he allegedly had to guard a gas processing plant.
"They said it was a one-month maximum job. That turned out to be a lie. We flew from Bogota to Istanbul. From Istanbul to Ufa. When we arrived in Ufa, they took away our passports, phones, all our documents. Three days later they put us on a bus and drove us for about 36 hours in an unknown direction, we did not know where they were taking us," says the Colombian citizen.
Colombians were assured that they would not fight. The captive claims that because of such promises, many people agree to the Russian Federation's offers. Colombian citizens arrived in Ufa continuously, the man in the video says.
"They deceived me so stupidly that they said I needed helpers, and I called a friend. He was killed and I saw it. I believed what they told me: that the job would be safe, that we wouldn't be sent to the front lines," another captive confessed.
The Colombians claim they never fired a shot and their magazines were full.
