Tusk Urged The EU To Make An Immediate Decision On Ukraine's Financing
Donald Tusk

"Either money today or blood tomorrow."

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk urged EU leaders to immediately decide on financial support for Ukraine, warning that delay would have dangerous consequences for the whole of Europe.

He said this on December 18, arriving in Brussels, writes "Interfax-Ukraine".

Commenting on the start of the EU summit he emphasized that European leaders should immediately decide on Ukraine's financing.

"Now we have a simple choice: either money today or blood tomorrow, and I'm not just talking about Ukraine, I'm talking about Europe, and this is our decision, and ours alone," Tusk stressed.

He said the responsibility for this decision lies entirely with EU leaders.

European leaders are discussing on December 18 how to finance Ukraine in 2026-2027 so that the country can continue its defense against Russia. Reuters writes that without that support, Ukraine will run out of money as early as the second quarter of 2026 and risk losing the war.
