Authorities In Russia's Tyumen Refused To Buy MAZ Buses

Allegedly they are not weather appropriate.

The Minsk Automobile Plant does not satisfy some customers in Russia and on its electric buses.

Climatic conditions in Tyumen "still do not make it possible to ensure a long period of operation" of modern electric buses on routes, said the mayor of this Siberian city Maksim Afanasyev.

According to the mayor, the city authorities, as part of an experiment, purchased one electric bus (in 2017 and of Russian manufacture) and put it on the route, writes "Kommersant". But it had to be removed because of the local climate

The mayor noted that the administration considered a "very high-quality line" of electric buses from the Minsk Automobile Plant. However, he delicately emphasized that "the weather conditions in which they are operated in Belarus" are different from those in Tyumen.

It should be noted that MAZ buses massively burned in Russia. After that, the local authorities began to abandon them.
