The defense forces are holding the defense of the Pokrovsko-Mirnograd agglomeration despite increased pressure from Russian troops.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky announced this.

According to Syrskyy, he made a working visit to the military administration bodies, which are conducting the operation in this direction, and heard the reports of commanders.

"The situation remains difficult. The enemy is trying to increase pressure on our defensive positions and is transferring additional reserves here," the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

After the reports, the tasks for the commanders of army corps and units that hold the lines in the Pokrovsky direction were specified. In particular, specific steps have been identified to strengthen the defense and improve the effectiveness of Ukrainian troops.

"Specific steps have been identified to strengthen the defense, including maintaining stable operation of important logistical routes, increasing the effectiveness of fire and improving coordination between units," Syrskyy said.

He stressed that the Defense Forces remain faithful to the tactics of active defense.
