This is important for the security and economic opportunities of the Czech Republic itself.

Czech President Petr Pavel has urged the new government to continue providing aid to Ukraine, as it is also important for the security and economic opportunities of the Czech Republic itself. This was reported by ČTK on Wednesday, December 10.

Pavel noted that cutting off aid would make it impossible for the Czech Republic to potentially cooperate with Ukraine in the field of reconstruction.

"Even if we put aside solidarity, the defense of principles and values, and look at it purely pragmatically, it makes no sense to me to stop supporting Ukraine now. After all, by doing so we are closing the door to possible further cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine, which will come sooner or later. Therefore, even those who are not inclined to believe that a country that has been attacked should be helped should look at it in such a way that supporting Ukraine's security increases our security in the future as well, and in addition, it can be quite an important economic opportunity," Pavel said during a meeting with city deputies in the city of Liberec.
