Maritime drones of the Security Service of Ukraine on December 10 hit another sub-sanctioned tanker of the Russian Federation from the so-called "shadow fleet" in the Black Sea. According to preliminary information, the vessel was put out of action.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to its own sources in the SBU.
SBU Sea Baby marine drones attacked the tanker Dashan from Russia's "shadow fleet" in the Black Sea on December 10. The tanker masks its identity with the flag of the Comoros Islands.
The vessel was intercepted in the exclusive economic zone of Ukraine when it was moving at maximum speed and with its transponder turned off towards the Novorossiysk port terminal. As a result of the attack, the tanker was critically damaged and completely incapacitated - powerful explosions can be perfectly seen on the video, which sources showed.
The approximate value of the tanker is $30 million, and in one voyage it is capable of transporting $60 million worth of oil. The Dashan tanker is under a number of sanctions, including those imposed by Ukraine, the European Union, the UK, Canada, Australia and Switzerland.
The operation was carried out by the 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU and the Ukrainian Navy.
