New York Post: Yermack, After Being Fired, Went To The Front.

The former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine said he was going to the front line.

The former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, who left his post after a search of his apartment, told Western media that he was going to the front lines.

The New York Post reported.

"I'm going to the front... I served Ukraine and was in Kiev on February 24, 2024 (probably meant 2022, - ed.). Perhaps we will see each other again. Glory to Ukraine," the New York Post quoted him as saying.

Yermak recalled that since February 24, 2022, he was in Kiev and participated in the defense of Ukraine.

He noted that he did not want to cause problems for President Volodymyr Zelensky and did not say when and how he intended to start serving at the front.

Relationship to peace talks

Yermak's dismissal came amid preparations by the Ukrainian delegation for talks with the US team on a peace plan. Yermak's resignation, according to Ukraine's ambassador to the United States, avoided speculation and preserved public confidence.

The Ukrainian president's reaction

President Zelensky emphasized Yermak's patriotic stance and noted that his departure does not change the representation of Ukraine's interests at the diplomatic level. At the same time, the move will satisfy the public and regain the trust of Ukrainians.

Also, Zelensky has already changed the composition of the delegation for further negotiations on the peace plan.

Operation Midas investigation

The investigation, which has been ongoing for over a year, concerns the possible misappropriation of funds through Energoatom contractors. At the same time, no procedural actions were taken against Yermak after the search.

At the same time, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, tendered his resignation, with the president stressing that while focusing on diplomacy and defense, the country's internal forces remain the key foundation for Ukraine's external unity and international relations.
