The EU Has Prepared A New Package Of Sanctions Against Lukashenko's Regime

Brussels wants to close loopholes in restrictive measures.

The EU has prepared a number of new sanctions against Belarus to close the loopholes through which Minsk helps Russia in its war against Ukraine. This Radye Svaboda learned from knowledgeable sources in Brussels.

The following are among the restrictions in the new package of EU sanctions:

A ban on an additional list of dual-use technologies and goods, as well as technologies and goods that could strengthen the military and security industries. It is noted that Russia used some of these goods in the war against Ukraine - in particular, components for drones;

A number of goods that can strengthen the military and security industries are also banned from transit through Belarus;

A ban is imposed on supplies of certain types of software to Belarus;

The import of aluminum from Belarus is restricted;

The ban on European companies to provide construction services in Belarus is expanded;

The ban on road freight transportation through the EU territory is prohibited to companies that are 25% or more owned by Belarusian individuals or legal entities;

The list of persons subject to sanctions is expanded - among them should be all those who benefit from the Belarusian military-industrial complex;

Additional measures of control over financial transactions of Belarusian companies in the EU are introduced.

It is noted that the purpose of the new package of sanctions is to minimize the participation of Belarus in the Russian military machine and block all possible ways to circumvent the European restrictions.
