Lukashenko Himself Decided To Build The Third Power Unit Of BelNPP

That's a crazy statement.

Dictator Lukashenko said that Belarusian specialists could allegedly build the third unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant by 85-90% themselves, while the main elements could be taken from Russia.

The dictator said this on November 17 at a meeting with the governor of Rostov region Yuri Slyusar, reports BelTA.

"We are ready to build the third unit. President [Putin] has absolutely no rejection - I feel, I know his support. The head of Rosatom has absolute support. Of course, they are interested in it. Especially since we are ready to build this plant ourselves, 85-90 percent of the time. Well, the engineering and the reactor are Russian. We will take the basic elements from Russia, and we know how to do everything else. The Russians taught us how to build the first plant," said Lukashenko.

It should be noted that Belarusian specialists have no experience in building nuclear power plants. The key work at BelNPP in Astravets was performed by Rosatom employees. The Russian company was noted for a number of emergencies during the construction of the facility.
