Video Fact: NATO Showed How It Will Destroy Russian Ships

A torpedo blew apart the frigate KNM Trondheim.

On November 16, spectacular footage of NATO's Aegir 25 exercise, which took place near Andfjord, Norway, was shown on the Web. During maneuvers at sea, the KNM Uthaug submarine fired a torpedo at the KNM Trondheim frigate, literally tearing it apart.

The destruction of the ship was captured on video, which was published by NATO's Joint Forces Command in Norfolk.

The footage shows the shell hitting the port side of the vessel, the impact causing the deckhouse to collapse before our eyes, the structure of containers on deck to crumble, as well as the entire KNM Trondheim.

The NATO exercise clearly demonstrated what would happen to a similar warship in Russia's navy in the event of war. The military maneuvers took place from Sept. 1 to Sept. 29 and involved the navies of Norway, Britain and Poland. The exercises are notable for being the first to test "launch Naval Strike Missiles" at the Annea Range, now installed on the ships HMS Richmond, HMS Somerset and HMS Portland.

According to the website Charter97.org, former U.S. Army commander in Europe General Ben Hodges said that if Russia decides to attack a NATO country, its military facilities in Kaliningrad and Sevastopol will be destroyed in the first hours.
