Belarus Introduces Another Currency Change

The government and the National Bank introduced currency changes - for companies-exporters of goods and services until December 31, 2026 extended the ability to accept cash currency. Another innovation - the same relaxation is introduced for importers.

Belarusian companies-exporters of goods and services from 2022 can receive cash currency from foreign counterparties under foreign exchange contracts. This applies to dollars, euros, Chinese yuan. This has been extended several times, this time - until December 31, 2026.

The officials also allowed Belarusian companies-importers to accept foreign currency. Most likely, this was done so that the firms could get back the money on problematic orders. For example, the funds were transferred abroad, but the goods were not delivered - in this case, the companies will be able to return the funds to Belarus in cash. Importers will also be able to accept cash dollars, euros and Chinese yuan until December 31, 2026.

This relaxation appeared against the background of sanctions, imposed by Western countries against Belarus - because of them there are difficulties with money transfers.
