Lukashenko Himself Turned In His "six"

But sanctions will not be lifted by the West.

Coordinator of the civil campaign "European Belarus", former political prisoner Yauhen Afnagel commented on dictator Lukashenko's admissions that ex-NEXTA project participant Roman Protasevich worked for Belarusian intelligence:

- I know that the phrase "we talked about it" always comes too late. Lukashenko's confession about Protasevich today was not a surprise for me. Everything was clear back then, in 2020.

Protesting only on Sundays, taking people away from the center of Minsk, refusing to take decisive action in the streets - and Protasevich, who was editor-in-chief of the NEXTA Telegram channel and responsible for the mass actions in Tikhanovskaya's office, and some of his colleagues had already shown their essence.

Representatives of our team met with them, tried to negotiate, but, of course, nothing came out. And it couldn't, because the tasks were different.

The editor-in-chief of Sharter97.org Natalya Radina in 2023 said of Protasevich: "There are serious suspicions that this is just an agent of special services."

A year and a half ago, coordinator of "European Belarus" Dmitry Bondarenko said the same about him: "He was an agent, and maybe an officer of the special services from the beginning. Protasevich, in my opinion, was planted, many things were done there to disrupt the protests."

The former political prisoner Andrei Voynich yesterday told how Protasevich's "partner" Vladimir Chudentsov arranged provocations against political prisoners in the Mogilev colony. Well, today Lukashenko himself turned in his own six. Not the first and not the last. This does not cancel the fact that the Belarusian authorities committed an act of state terrorism by landing the Ryanair airplane with European citizens on board in Minsk.

Today's coming out is a reason for the rest of the six to think: the truth will still come out, and a clean confession, at least, will provide a more peaceful sleep.

And those who called Protasevich a "hero" even after his denunciations and speeches on BT, should still be more discerning.
