Romania Suspends Double Taxation Treaty With Belarus

The treaty was concluded in 1997.

On September 18, the Romanian government approved a memorandum on the suspension of the agreement with Belarus on the elimination of double taxation, itp.orbitax.com reports.

The treaty was concluded in 1997.

Belarus previously suspended certain articles of tax treaties with 27 countries, including Romania, for the period from June 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026. The restrictions affected articles on dividends, interest and capital gains.

Romania's suspension of the treaty will be in effect until January 1, 2027, unless Belarus reconsiders its decision.
