Israel Announces Beginning Of New Phase Of War

Attention shifts to the northern front.

Israel is entering a ‘new phase’ of war in which the country's attention will be focused on its northern border.

The statement was made by Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Galant amid a series of bombings in Lebanon.

‘The centre of gravity is shifting to the north,’ said the defence minister, quoted by The Times of Israel.

The defence chief added that Israel is now directing ‘all forces, resources and energy’ to the northern front.

The purpose of the new phase of the war is to ensure the security of the residents of the northern part of the Israeli state.

It should be noted that in the north, Israel borders Lebanon, many areas of which are controlled by Hezbollah.
