‘Ferry Sank’: Ukrainian Navy Confirms Destruction Of Russian ‘Konro Trader’

The Ukrainian Navy confirmed the destruction of the Russian railway ferry of ‘Konro Trader’ in the Kavkaz port of the Krasnodar region on 22 August.
This was stated by the representative of the Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk on air of ‘Radio Svaboda’.
‘We can confirm the information that this target was destroyed by the Navy. This ferry is one of the important chains of Russian military logistics to provide the occupation forces, first of all, with fuel and lubricants, but, in addition, it was transporting, of course, weapons. So this is a legitimate target. And, accordingly, it should reduce the potential of our enemy's capability in those locations where they are engaged in active hostilities,’ the Navy speaker said.
Pletenchuk added that as a result of the attack, the work of the Russian port is partially blocked - until the affected vessel is removed from the berth. According to him, the other two railway ferries in this port are not working: one of them is under repair, and the other, the previously hit ‘Slavyanin’, is awaiting repairs in the Sea of Azov.
‘The ferry has sunk. That is, the work of this part of the port is actually blocked. They still have one platform for loading wagons on the ferry. However, there are no ferries. This is the problem. Well, it is not without reason that immediately the local residents in the occupied Ukrainian Crimea responded with mass visits to petrol stations,’ Pletenchuk said.
The speaker added that the attack on the Konro Trader was carried out in cooperation with other branches of the Defence Forces.
