Military Expert: Cutting-Edge Russian Fighter Jets Were Based At Lipetsk Airfield

At the Lipetsk airfield, which was previously hit by drones, Russian pilots were mastering Su-57 fighter jets. This was reported by military expert Oleh Katkov.

In his opinion, the attack on the Lipetsk airfield is a continuation of the achievements, successes and capabilities that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are already demonstrating.

“It should be noted that this is not only an airfield. This is the Lipetsk training center, which has been used by the enemy since the beginning of the full-scale invasion as a military airbase. Not only Su and MiG fighter jets were based at this airbase. The so-called fifth-generation fighter jets, as they are called in the Russian Federation, Su-57, were based at this airfield. They were recorded on Google Maps images back in 2023,” the analyst said on the Espreso TV channel.

He claims that the Su-57s were based in Lipetsk, and that is where the Russian pilots took control of them.

“Whether they were damaged is still unknown. But there is a fact that an ammunition depot was destroyed. Local authorities evacuated the surrounding small settlements. That is, there was quite a spectacular fire show,” Katkov added.
