The Poles have stopped letting cars with Belarusian registration through their border if the owner of the car is not in the car.

According to participants in border Telegram chats, they are not allowed even if there is a power of attorney, including a general one.

Also, vehicles owned by legal entities are banned from entering Poland.

It turns out that those motorists who purchased a car on lease will not be able to enter Poland.

The new requirements came into effect on July 9. Chat participants also note that from July 10, it will no longer be possible to bring cigarettes and alcohol from Belarus to Poland. This information is voiced by Polish customs officials.

The sanctions package and technical regulations of the EU adopted on June 29 state that the competent authorities may allow, under conditions they deem appropriate, the entry into the Union of a vehicle covered by the customs code CN 8703 (passenger vehicles).

It means that each EU country has the right to determine the rules by which it will allow vehicles with Belarusian registration into its territory.
