‘Britain Crossed Russia’s So-Called Red Lines’

It showed the allies that they should not be afraid of escalation.

With the advent of the new British government, Ukraine can count on more weapons and equipment. Peter Dickinson, editor of the Ukrainian service of the Atlantic Council, publisher of Business Ukraine and Lviv Today magazines, stated this on the FREEДОМ channel.

According to him, the “Defense and Security” clause in the agreement on a hundred-year cooperation, which Kyiv and London intend to sign, provides for the provision of more weapons to Ukraine.

“Now the priority is to give Ukraine more weapons, and do it faster. This can be said about any partner of Ukraine. We have already seen in the last 2.5 years, Britain has often been a pioneer, a leader who has set an example for others. That is, Britain was the first to give anti-tank weapons in January 2022, Britain was the first to give modern tanks to Ukraine in January 2023. Britain was the first to give Ukraine missiles in May 2023. And this year, Britain is the first to give the green light for the use of their weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation. That is, Britain quite often in this war set an example for other countries and crossed the so-called red lines of Russia. We showed that nothing happens when these abstract red lines are crossed, so to speak,” Dickinson said.

In his opinion, it is now important that Britain continues in the same spirit, giving Ukraine new categories of weapons and equipment, setting an example to other allies.

“It showed that there is no need to be afraid of escalation, there is no need to control yourself, as many Western leaders are now doing because of some abstract fear about Russia. Because after all, no one will win any war this way. And that's what Britain has shown over the last 2.5 years and it must continue that way,” Dickinson said.
