Novorossiysk Attacked By Naval Drones

Loud explosions and a fire broke out at the main base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

On the night of July 2 to 3, naval drones attacked Novorossiysk in Russia's Krasnodar region. Traffic is restricted in the city itself. This was reported by the mayor of Novorossiysk Andrei Kravchenko.

"The attack of uncrewed boats is being repelled in Novorossiysk. Please stay calm, observe safety measures, stay in safe places. Do not stay in the open space by the sea," Kravchenko wrote.

A few minutes later, he reported that traffic was restricted in the area of the embankment and prohibited citizens to go there.

At the same time, local telegram channels released a video on which sounds of explosions can be heard in the harbour area.

Local residents claim that everything started around 3 a.m. and complained about the sounds of sirens.

Subsequently, local public pages reported that a fire started in the mountains near Novorossiysk as a result of the attack of marine drones.

The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on this information.

It should be noted that Novorossiysk is home to the main naval base of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation and the Novorossiysk Sea Port, which is the largest port of Russia and the Black Sea. There is also an oil loading harbour in the same port.
