And reveals his recipe for winning the war.
Technology will be decisive in the Russian-Ukrainian war, moreover - the global security of the future will be based on it.
This was stated by the former head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny in his speech at the RUSI Land Warfare Conference 2024 in London, RBC-Ukraine reports.
Critical security issues were discussed at the event, including the challenges posed by Russian aggression and the need to be ready to confront them in the future.
In his speech, Zaluzhny noted that the war that started in 2022 is ‘completely different’ from the one that had been fought since 2014.
The main problem, he said, was new forms of applying the latest technologies. Zaluzhny is convinced that the invention of new ways of use would have logically led to changes in the structure of the army as a whole.
‘...Today we have already invented a way to fight and defeat the stronger armies of the 21st century. Obviously, it is technology that should ensure the sustainability of the Ukrainian nation,’ Zaluzhny said.
At the same time, he noted, the Russian-Ukrainian war is ‘not yet a war of the future,’ it is a ‘war of transition.’
‘However, it is our war that is shaping the new rules. We Ukrainians, with our blood and thirst for victory, are forming new models of a new war. A war that will be the war of the future,’ the politician said.
Moreover, Zaluzhny believes that technology will become the basis of future global security.
At the same time, he is convinced that today, due to various reasons, neither Ukraine nor Russia will be able to master technologies on their own in the near future. This means that the only way out may be to increase the number of human resources.
‘Today, more than ever, it is in Ukraine that they find ways to survive and create technologies. But for obvious reasons they cannot be scaled. On the other hand, our partners have resources, but there is no applied and practical field to test them. Only together we can effectively use the resource...’ Zaluzhny said.
