Aliaksandr Feduta Transsferd Back From Hospital To Prison

A political prisoner can hardly move, but he is forced to work.

Political scientist Aliaksandr Fiaduta was sentenced in September 2022 to 10 years in prison on charges of "conspiracy to seize power." The health of a political prisoner deteriorated sharply in detention.

"Aliaksandr Fiaduta still walks, leaning on a stick. He was in a hospital for treatment — and now he is again in the detachment. He has to go to work, but it is clear that he can hardly move," a source told Radio Liberty about the condition of Aliaksandr Feduta.

This year in November, Aliaksandr Feduta will be 60 years old.

The source also mentioned Vasil Berasneu, one of the leaders of the independent REP trade union, who was sentenced to 9 years in prison. The political prisoner is 73 years old, he does not have one kidney. Last year, the question arose about the surgery for Berasneu but in prison conditions it was not done and after the examination, the political prisoner was returned to the prison.

"Berasneu is constantly in the squad, he is a pensioner and he does not work in production. Prisoners see him when he leaves the squad for medicines and medical care. He looks tired, and nothing more is known about him," the source said about Vasil Berasneu.

According to the source, one of the political prisoners of IK-15 (the prison) this year received an additional sentence under Article 411 of the Criminal Code ("disobedience to the legitimate requirements of the administration of the correctional institution") and was sent to another prison. It is unknown where the political prisoner was sent.
