Belarusian Defence Ministry Passes Off Four-Year-Old Footage As Preparation For Parade

Is Lukashenka having serious health problems again?

On June 11, the Telegram channel of the 61st Fighter Air Base published a video showing preparations for the air part of the parade, which will be held on July 3.

The video, shot from the fighter's cockpit, shows the streets of Minsk. Later, the video was published by the channel of the Ministry of Defence of Belarus.

It was accompanied by a caption that it is ‘exclusive footage of preparations for the air part of the military parade’. The ‘Belaruski Hayun’ project writes that the video is four years old.

‘Upon close examination of the video, it turned out that the “unique footage” has nothing to do with preparations for the parade, which will take place on 3 July 2024. The video was shot during preparations for the parade, which took place on 9 May 2020,’ the project writes.

For example, in the video you can notice a building located at the intersection of Kharuzhey and Bahdanovich streets. However, it was demolished back in January 2024.

Moreover, on the video you can notice the blocked Sukhaya Street and open Melnikayte Street - this was between 2019 and November 2020.

‘Everything points to the fact that the video from the cockpit of the fighter jet was filmed four years ago. According to our information, training of the aviation part of the upcoming parade in the skies above Minsk has not yet been held,‘ notes Belaruski Hayun.

We remind you that last year Lukashenka behaved strangely during the celebrations on May 9 in Minsk due to health problems. The dictator refused to make a speech, and Defence Minister Viktar Khrenin made it instead.
