What Kind Of Helicopters Lukashenka Flies On?

There is also a helicopter on which Raisi crashed in his fleet.

The Mi-171 helicopter, on board of which Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi was flying, had an accident near the border with Azerbaijan. The helicopter crashed into a steep slope and broke into separate fragments. A number of top Iranian officials were also killed.

Charter97.org has checked the helicopters used by Lukashenka.

Lukashenka's fleet includes an AgustaWestland AW-139, presented by Russian oligarch Mikhail Gutseriev. This medium helicopter was developed by the Italian-British company of Leonardo-Finmeccanica (formerly AgustaWestland). The AW-139 can reach speeds of up to 310 km/h and has a range of up to 1,061 kilometres. It can accommodate up to 15 passengers and is equipped with advanced navigation systems and safety features.

The helicopter has been under US and UK sanctions since 2021. Lukashenka has only travelled by this helicopter a few times.

The ruler uses Russian Mi-8 helicopters and their modifications for travelling around the country.

The Mi-171 helicopter on which Raisi crashed is a modified model of the Soviet Mi-8.
