The US Senate is talking about consensus for emergency aid to Ukraine and Israel.

Iran's attack on Israel could speed up aid to Ukraine. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, said a "consensus" was reached during a Sunday phone call between President Joe Biden and congressional leaders saying Congress should act quickly to send aid to both Israel and Ukraine.

Schumer's statement was quoted by European Truth.

Schumer expressed hope at a press conference in New York that something could be done this week to help both countries.

He said the best way to send aid to Israel and Ukraine is for the House of Representatives to pass a Senate-approved supplemental national security bill that includes aid to both countries.

The Senate approved the $95 billion package in February, but House Speaker Mike Johnson did not bring it up for a vote.

"The best way to help Israel rebuild its missile defence and counter-drone capability is to pass this supplemental immediately.

As I've said before, Israel has spent nearly a billion dollars on its defence, and the security supplemental will add to those missile and drone defences that are in the Arrow system, the David's Sling system and Iron Dome," Schumer said.

Earlier Sunday, Biden spoke with Senate Majority Leader Schumer, House Speaker Mike Johnson, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
