SBU Major General Told Why Lukashenka Let It Slip

The dictator told 99% of the truth.

Reserve Major General of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), former Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Viktor Yahun explained in an interview with Radio NV why Belarusian dictator Aliaksandr Lukashenka denies the nonsense of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin about Ukraine's involvement in the shooting at the Crocus City Hall.

Yahun said that Lukashenka "always tried to show himself in the best possible light", especially in front of his population.

“I suspect that Lukashenka told 99% of the truth. They were waiting for them, they could arrest them. But they reacted in time and realized that they were waiting for them there and turned around. But the situation is real: 15 kilometres from the border with Belarus and 153 kilometres from the border with Ukraine. It was clear were they were heading," the former SBU Deputy Chief said.

On March 26, Lukashenka said that the shooters from the Russian Crocus City Hall first went towards the Belarusian border. He denied the statements of the Kremlin propaganda that they allegedly planned to go to Ukraine from the very beginning.

"They could not enter Belarus in any way. They saw it. Therefore, they turned away and went to the section of the Ukrainian-Russian border, " he said.
