Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that President Salome Zurabishvili will have to resign after her term ends. He threatened her with prison if she disobeys.
Sova reports this, citing Kobakhidze's statement.
He said that Zurabishvili "doesn't have even a week left" in her post as President of Georgia, so the Prime Minister "recommended" that she not meet with the opposition and refrain from announcing new parliamentary elections.
"True, some European politicians and officials say that a lot can happen before December 29 [when Zurabishvili's term ends, - ed.], but I assure you that not much will happen," Kobakhidze said.
The head of the Georgian government threatened the president if she does not resign.
"We'll see where she continues to live - behind bars or at large. I think she has enough grounds not to violate the Criminal Code," he said.
