Russia is left without the head of military counterintelligence.
Colonel-General Nikolai Yuryev, head of the FSB military counterintelligence, has left his post: the media assure that it is not connected with the liquidation of Igor Kirillov.
On December 19, Russia was left without the leadership of the FSB military counterintelligence: Colonel-General Nikolai Yuryev left his post.
In fact, the dismissal became known two days after Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov of the Russian Federation's Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defence Troops was blown up in Moscow along with his aide.
This was reported by The Moscow Times.
The Russian media categorically deny that the reason for the resignation was eliminating one of the commanders of the army of the Russian Federation right in Moscow. Nikolai Yuryev left his post allegedly due to retirement.
The Russian Ministry of Defence expects the public to believe that the decree on Yuriev's dismissal was signed on December 16, i.e. the day before the Ryazansky Avenue bombing.
It is not yet known who will head the FSB military counterintelligence service.
