Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has been urgently hospitalised due to a brain haemorrhage, the hospital said in a press release, reports the Brazilian publication of Veya.
According to the Sirio Libanes Hospital, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was admitted to the surgical hospital on Monday evening, the 9th. He had sought medical attention due to a headache.
An MRI revealed an intracranial haemorrhage, the result of Lula da Silva falling and hitting the back of his head in October. Doctors had previously warned of the threat of internal bleeding.
The medical bulletin reports that the Brazilian president underwent surgery to remove the haematoma. According to the hospital, the surgery was successful and Lula is recovering in the intensive care unit.
Lula da Silva is currently 79 years old.
