Media Learn Who Shut Zakharova's Mouth Live On Air

The representative of the Russian foreign Ministry forgot to switch off the microphone.

Russian media have learnt who called Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova during a briefing and ordered her to keep quiet about the ballistic missile strike at Dnipro.

The call with the order came from the first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, Alexei Gromov. It was his voice that was heard when Zakharova was on the phone, said two Project journalists who had personally communicated with Gromov.

The content of the phone call that interrupted Zakharova became known because she forgot to switch off the microphone.

The man who called Zakharova was well acquainted with her and addressed her using the short name ‘Masha’: - Masha. - Yes, I have a briefing. - There was a ballistic missile strike at Yuzhmash, what [unintelligible] started to talk about, we don't comment at all. - Yes, all right, thank you.

As Russian media wrote, Gromov holds regular briefings with the press services of the agencies, including Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
