Powerful Explosion Thundered Near Bryansk: Russia's MoD Arsenal Is On Fire

Russian propagandists in panic announced an ATACMS and Storm Shadow strike

In the city of Karachev in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, on the night of November 19, a powerful explosion was heard, a fiery glow shone in the sky and then less intense explosions followed, reports Obozrevatel.

Likely, the 67th ammunition depot of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Russian Defence Ministry was attacked there, which the "bavovna" had already visited a month ago.

Before the loud explosion, local authorities declared a missile threat, and then claimed that the region was attacked by "Ukrainian drones". At the same time, video confirmation of a strong fire appeared online.

"A missile threat was declared in the Bryansk region, after which, according to eyewitnesses, a very powerful explosion was heard in Karachev. Now residents see a fiery glow and hear less powerful explosions. There is a large weapons arsenal here,” The Russian social media reported on Tuesday morning.

They suggested that the BK warehouse was attacked, but it is still unclear what exactly – “using drones or missiles.”

At the same time, Russian propagandists began to invent that a “combined attack using UAVs and Western ATACMS/Storm Shadow missiles” was allegedly carried out on the Bryansk region, since Western media reported the lifting of the ban on their use by the Ukrainian Defense Forces the day before.

It should be noted that November 19 is the Day of Missile Troops and Artillery in the Russian Federation. The Russian 67th GRAU arsenal is located near a city of 20,000 people, 114 km from the border with Ukraine. The total area of the warehouse is about 3.5 square kilometers.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Andrey Kovalenko, stated that there was indeed a strike on the 67th arsenal of the GRAU in the Bryansk region. Artillery ammunition was stored there, including with North Korean systems for them, as well as guided aerial bombs (KABs), anti-aircraft missiles and ammunition for MLRS.
