The dictator is upset with the situation in Mahiliou region.
Dictator Lukashenka has instructed to resume the Palesse development programme - he believes that this region is capable of ‘feeding the whole country’ if it is brought to order. At the same time Mahiliou region, according to him, needs ‘a good whip,’ reports the dictator's press service.
On October 4, Lukashenka made a working trip to Pinsk district, Brest region. There, he instructed to return to the Palesse development programme, saying that there had been such attempts in the past.
‘We once tried to revive Palesse. And a programme to restore Palesse was adopted. As it happens with us, with officials, they moved here and there, and that was the end of it,’ said the dictator.
He specified that it was about the territories from Pinsk to Mazyr.
The dictator reminded of other similar regional programmes - for example, in the south-east of Mahiliou region, ‘revival’ of Chernobyl districts.
As for Mahiliou region, Lukashenka demanded to restore discipline there for its effective development.
‘Mahiliou region needs a good whip. There are excellent lands there, everything is available. They are just messing around,’ said the dictator.
