Ukrainian war correspondent Yuriy Butusov spoke about the military potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:

It does not matter how it is now, they are advancing in small infantry groups, we can destroy them in the same way.

The goal of the Russian strategy is to destroy the combat capability of the Ukrainian army, and we must counter them with our plan for victory. Our real plan for victory must consist of defeating the Russian army, making it impossible for it to advance further, and preserving the combat capability of the Ukrainian army, that is, preserving ourselves and the lives of our soldiers. This is the main goal of the war.”
