A strange innovation is used in the “Lechkomissiya”.
Head of the Lukashenka Administration Alena Kachanko said that some patients are marked with a “black mark” in the hospital.
Kachanko's story about this know-how was noticed by the Telegram channel “White Coats”.
“Colleagues from the National Medical and Surgical Center named after N. I. Pirogov, when isolating a patient with multi-resistant flora, hang a sign on the ward “Do not touch! Gown, cap, mask, gloves”.
We came up with the name “black mark” in our hospital. Thus, the nurse clearly understands that the ward in which the patient with the “black mark” is located should be washed last; also the buffet lady brings food there last, and the surgeon knows that the dressing should be done last in the ward,” Kachanko said on the pages of the Medical Bulletin.
The White Coats group notes that entering such a ward last is an adequate practice, but it is not entirely clear to what extent such “marking” complies with ethical standards. Usually, in such cases, standard warning signs are enough, without images of a skull and crossbones.
In 2024, Kachanko published a teaching aid “Elements of Infection Control in a Multidisciplinary Hospital.” The aid was edited by Iryna Abelskaya, the chief physician of the “Lechkomissiya” and mother of Mikalai Lukashenka.
