Belarusian General Staff Plans Intiative Of Compulsory Military Service Women

This issue has allegedly become very urgent.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus has explained whether the state plans to introduce conscription of women for compulsory military service. According to Andrei Murashou, a consultant at the General Staff's military conscription department, this "issue has become very urgent over the past two years."

"We have received many requests, including from relevant government agencies, to consider the issue of compulsory conscription of female citizens for compulsory military service. We do not consider this to be such an urgent need now," Murashou said in an interview with the state television channel ONT.

According to him, "there are enough male citizens" to fulfill military service in Belarus.
