The president of the unrecognised "republic" has signed a decree.
The unrecognised "Republic of Artsakh" (Nagorno-Karabakh) will cease to exist from January 1, 2024. The decree on this matter was signed by the so-called head of Nagorno-Karabakh Samvel Shahramanyan.
The capitulation of "Artsakh" took place after the September anti-terrorist operation conducted by Azerbaijan. Shahramanyan's decree says the decision was made "in connection with the military-political situation."
"In connection with the established complex military-political situation, taking into account the priority of ensuring the physical security and vital interests of the people of 'Artsakh', considering the agreement reached through the mediation of the Russian 'peacekeeping' contingent command with representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan on ensuring the free, voluntary and unhindered passage of the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, including military personnel..." the text said.
All state bodies and their subordinate organisations will be dissolved. The President offered the residents of the region who have not left for Armenia to familiarise themselves with the terms of "reintegration" presented by Azerbaijan. The number of people who fled to Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh exceeded 50,000.
At the same time, the "NKR Foreign Minister" David Babayan decided to surrender to the Azebaijani authorities. It was Babayan who had been the main speaker of the "NKR" for the last years.
