Airliner With 170 Passengers On Board Makes Emergency Landing In Russia

The hydraulic system has failed.

A passenger Sochi-Omsk plane made an emergency landing in a field in the Novosibirsk region of Russia. There were at least 170 people on board. There is information on four casualties currently.

Russian media RIA Novosti and Kommersant report this.

According to the Russian Emergency Service for the Novosibirsk region, there were 170 people on board, including 23 children.

According to Flightradar, the plane did not land at Omsk airport, changed course, set the transponder code 7700 (the main alarm), and then flew towards Novosibirsk.

The Press Service of the Novosibirsk Airport confirmed that the plane was flying to an alternate airfield. Acting Governor of the Omsk Region Vitaly Khotsenko said that the preliminary cause of the emergency landing was a failure of the hydraulic system.
