Two People Crash On Motor-Delta Glider Near Vileika

The pilot lost control.

On the evening of Sunday 27 August, a tragedy occurred in the district of Vileika. A 52-year-old resident of Smalevichy and a 24-year-old local man died when a motor glider crashed, the Investigative Committee reported.

A man from Smalevichy came to Vileika district with a motor-delta glider to fly. As he sat down, a local man approached him and asked to fly with him. The man agreed.

In mid-air, the pilot lost control and the plane crashed, killing both men.

The investigation team is now on the scene, experts with a mobile forensic laboratory.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 3314 of the Criminal Code "Violation of safety regulations for the movement or operation of air transport, resulting in the death of two persons through negligence".
