Scandalous Results Of First Centralized Examination In Belarus To Be Recalculated Using New Method

Points can be redeemed today.

The results of the first CE will be recalculated according to the new method. It was developed using approaches applied in rehearsal testing. The points will be available today, Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets said, BelTA informs.

According to him, the interdepartmental commission, which checked the correctness of the calculation of the results of the first centralized exam, has finished its work. The test results showed that there were no errors, including in the method of calculating test scores.

“At the same time, by the number of requests that we received from citizens, it became obvious that the methodology is too complicated. Therefore, Lukashenka gave a specific instruction to simplify the calculation method and make it understandable for every person. The Ministry of Education has carried out such work; in its development, the approaches that were used during rehearsal testing were applied. Already today, the results of the first centralized exam will be recalculated and posted on the Republican Center for Knowledge Control website, as well as in the personal accounts of applicants. The results of the second CE will also be calculated using the same methodology; they will be available on Monday,” Andrei Ivanets said.

It is important to note that when the results of the first centralized exam (CE) in the Belarusian and Russian languages, which took place on May 14, became known, many were dissatisfied with them.

On May 30, Aliaksandr Lukashenka commented on the “fuss after the CE” and instructed to check the organization of centralized exams and deal with each complaint received.

Later, the Ministry of Education announced that the correctness of processing the results of the first CE will be checked by an interdepartmental commission. The department also added that scheduled receptions of citizens on the results of the centralized exam will start from May 31. Appeals already received regarding CE will not be considered in absentia — their authors will be invited to a personal appointment with specialists.
