The absolute temperature record for the night of May 7 over the entire period of instrumental meteorological observations has been broken in Belarus. This is reported by Pozirk, citing a comparative analysis of operational and archival data of Belhidramet.

In Yazeryshcha in northern Vitsebsk region, the air cooled to 5.9 degrees below zero. The previous low lasted for nine years (-3.9 degrees Celsius in Vorsha at night on May 7, 2014). The extreme of 2008 (-2.6) was overtaken in Yazeryshcha itself.

In Minsk, the anti-record for the night that had held since 1917 (-1.4 vs -1 degree) was updated.
