Minsk Pensioner Shoots Passers-By With Gun From Balcony

In Minsk, a pensioner was shooting from a balcony with an air gun and hit a passer-by. The pensioner, according to him, decided to sight in his air gun, which he'd bought five years ago. The bullet hit the hand of a passing man. A criminal case has been initiated, reports the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The police received a report from an ambulance team about a man being taken to hospital with a preliminary diagnosis of a gunshot wound to the left hand.

As it turned out, the pensioner in the capital had bought an air rifle back in 2018. For some reason, he decided to sight it in only now, which he did from the balcony of his flat.

The bullet hit the hand of a passing man. An ambulance was called to the victim by workers at a tyre fitting shop nearby.

The 64-year-old pensioner was detained. A criminal case has been initiated for hooliganism. The police noted that he had previously been prosecuted for illegal fishing.
